I’m so happy you decided to stop by and learn all about making your own non-toxic DIY products!
Did you know that a lot of the products we use on a daily basis contain chemicals that have harmful effects on your body and health?
These toxic chemicals are in small amounts in most products we use but when you think about it, no one uses just one product on their body. We use several products on our bodies and we use them on a daily basis so all these chemicals accumulate in our bodies throughout the years. They manifest later in life as all sort of issues: hormonal imbalances, allergies, autoimmune disorders, organ failure, etc; they even manifest as cancer.
There are many alternatives to conventional products now-a-days so why expose yourself to endocrine disruptors and other chemicals when you can use toxic-free products? If you’re looking to buy safer products, check out our non-toxic shopping guide but if you’re looking to save some money and have even more control over the ingredients in the products you use we have lots of great resources for you!
Let’s start with 4 products that most of us carry in our bags. If you watched my segment on Good Morning Washington, then you are probably here for those recipes. If you missed the segment, click here to watch it or you can watch it below:

Travel Size DIY Products You Don’t Want to Leave Home Without:
I like to make these products in small batches since they don’t contains preservatives and this way you know what you’re using is fresh. It’s best to make them and start using them right away.
Translucent Powder:
This powder lives in my bag but I use it so much more in the summer since my face gets so shiny. A little bit of this translucent powder and your face looks all refreshed again!
Hand Sanitizer:
This product is truly a must in all bags because there always comes a time when we need our hands clean and we don’t have a sink near by to wash our hands.
Moisturizing Hand Lotion:
What I love about this recipe is that it is not as buttery as other homemade butters/creams. It absorbs really fast and leaves your hands feeling so soft.
Rose Water Mist Spray:
Rose Water does wonders for your skin. It can used to set up your make-up but my favorite way to use it is to refresh my skin when I’m hot and sweaty. You can also use it a toner before putting on your regular face cream.

Great post! I love DIY things in general because you can make it using materials found in your home, plus you know what’s “in” it because you made it yourself. 🙂
