I am an eco-friendly mama, trying to live a healthy life, with as little chemicals and processed foods as possible while also maintaining a balance. I believe in holistic, natural, gentle & attachment parenting, breastfeeding, questioning everything and above all, raising my children with love and listening to my inner voice.
I love to help and connect with moms, my passion is to travel (and this blog), I have a love affair with chocolate and I can’t live without my cup of coffee. 😉
Welcome to my blog, where I share about my life as a mom, my struggles and joys, my thoughts, beliefs, my favorite baby & kid items, natural living, kid activities and a little of family travel and stuff I’ve found useful. I am not perfect, nor 100% crunchy (green) but I am constantly trying to find my path, evolving as my children grow and this blog is a reflection of that.
My name is Carolina and I’m the writer behind this blog. I’m half Polish & half Costa Rican but I was born and raised in Costa Rica. I moved to Washington DC, U.S.A. in 2011 when I married the love of my life, Graham. We currently live in the DC area.
I studied psychology and preschool education but half through my career I dropped out of school and started following my dreams. I am one of those people that needs new challenges and loves plunging into unknown territory. Eventually I started a business in the sports industry which I ran for about 6 years before I quit to be a full time stay-at-home mom.
I am now a stay-at-home mom to my two daughters, who I call in this blog “Cookie” and “Jelly”. Cookie is 4 years old and Jelly is one. I love traveling almost as much as I love my family and I hope some day I’ll be able to take my daughters around the world.
What you will find in this blog
This blog entails my life as a stay at home mom – a mom that’s obsessed in researching what’s best for their kids, from foods to toys and anything in between. It’s place where you will find information about parenting, breastfeeding, baby wearing, crafts, some recipes, travel tips, the different phases of child raising and living a non-toxic lifestyle while trying to maintain the middle ground between our society and these “crunchy” beliefs.
My wish is that this blog will help other moms in their journey, whether to help them make a decision of what non-toxic toy they should get or to realize that they are not alone in this journey.
This blog will grow with me and my babies and will be about many topics related to being a parent. I have a lot I want to share, so keep visiting my blog and my Facebook page where I share posts from others that resonate with my beliefs.
You can find even more detailed information about this blog on my “start here” page.

How this blog was born
On May 2012 I found out I was expecting my first child, a baby girl.
As soon as I found out, my thirst for knowledge and for giving her the best of the best took over. I began a never ending search, always looking for what resonated with my beliefs, the most current information on child raising, what made sense… Little did I know that this would lead me to discover a whole new world.
My baby girl was born on January 2013. She became my teacher. With her cues, she would show me what she wanted from me, which prompted me to research even more. Every time I had an “hunch”, I followed it, I would research and it would lead me to new information, validating that what my instincts were telling me was right for her, my baby. I do have to admit, there are many things I did, do and will do because my inner voice, not a book, tells me it’s right for my daughter. I am a believer that each mama knows what’s best for her own child and I try to listen to my intuition while balancing that with my research.
This blog was born because I kept sharing all my findings and thoughts with my husband. He insisted I start a blog and share my “discoveries” with everyone. I was hesitant at first, being a mom is a full time job and on top of being a mom, I also worked from home. Close to my first baby’s 5 month birthday I took the plunge…
