A few weeks ago I found out I was invited to Good Morning Washington to do a segment on DIY products. I can’t tell you how excited this made me! I am just a mom that is very passionate about living a life free of toxic chemicals and it’s an honor to be able to share my passion with other people through this blog and now through this show.
My journey started when I found out I was pregnant with my first child, almost 5 years ago. It is shocking to learn everything that goes into some of the products we use in our daily lives and even more shocking that not even baby products are safe from this. This journey for me is an ongoing process, I am always learning and researching and trying to make the best decisions for my family.
If you’re just starting this journey I recommend you read my post Going Green and Toxic-free or How to Clear your House of Toxic Cleaning Products. I have also compiled a list of Green Resources where you can find important information.
On the show I shared how to make some of my favorite products. The great thing about making DIY products at home is that you know exactly what’s in them and you save a lot of money. A jar of cocoa butter, vinegar or castile soap makes tons of batches and last a long time. Plus all these recipes are really easy to make and most just take a few minutes.
Some of them, like the Lip Balm make great gifts for birthdays and Christmas and most of them are easy enough so that you can involve your kids in the process.

You can also find all of my recipes in the Green Resources section.
Attend a free workshop to learn how to make DIY products:
When I started this journey it was a little overwhelming and sometimes I wasn’t sure if I was doing things the right way. Now that I’ve had a little more experience making these recipes I’d love to show you how to make them.
I’ve partnered with Whole Foods Market to do a FREE workshop series, they will be lending us their space as well as providing products for the recipes we are making. How awesome is that?
Our first workshop will include some of the recipes I demonstrated on the show plus a few more. All you have to do is RSVP to make sure we have enough supplies for everyone attending. You can find more information on this workshop by clicking here.
This is just the first of a series of workshops. In each workshop we will be showing you how to make different products and talking about different topics. If you want to be notified of our upcoming workshops, leave us your email in the form below.
I truly hope you can make it! It is not only about creating safer products for our family but also about connecting with other moms in this journey. It is not easy being a mom and it’s so nice to share this journey with other.
