On Tuesday, February 18 we planned a trip to the Baltimore National Aquarium. My husband and mother-in-law took the day off and my husband’s aunt also joined us. It was the first time we would take our baby there and we were all excited.
We had planned to leave the house around 9am but my husband was running a bit behind and thanks to that my baby and I are still alive.
We park our car in front of our house, every day, just like all of our neighbors and in the 2 years we’ve been here nothing has ever happened but I guess there’s always a first time.
That morning someone hit our car pretty bad and took off
. Our car was parked and with the breaks on but was hit so hard it moved half block, went over a huge pile of snow and part of it landed on the sidewalk. I can only imagine how fast this person must have been going in a RESIDENTIAL area to have moved our car like this.
No one could believe it was a hit and run.
At the time this happened I was supposed to be putting my baby in the car seat. We could have both been dead…just like that.
Thankfully we were inside our home when this happened and we’re ok. Sadly, even though there eye witnesses and the driver’s license plate was stuck on our bumper (see the right side of our bumper on the picture) they have not been able to locate the person. I just hope this person realizes he could have killed someone…
My mother-in-law was kind enough to drive all the way to our house (about a 45min drive) to take us to the aquarium, which is about 20mins from her house.
We ended up having a lovely day and Cookie loved every bit of it. Seeing her so happy made it all worth it.
It’s at times like these when I’m reminded of how blessed we are. I am grateful to be able to enjoy every day with my daughter and husband. I am grateful to have such amazing family and friends that we can count on in times like these. We are truly blessed.
