I’m partering with Honest Kids to give away a month’s supply of Honest Kids juice to 5 lucky winners. All opinion stated on this post are 100% my own.
When my oldest started asking about juice boxes I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want her drinking a juice box loaded with sugars and every time I read a label from a kid’s juice it contained 20 or more grams of sugar per box.
The recommended daily intake for sugar in ADULTS is 25g for women and 37g for men. You bet I didn’t want my 3 year old child having this much sugar in one drink. I started making juices at home but the more parties we attended to, the harder it got to keep her away from juice boxes. Plus carrying homemade juice was not ideal, sometimes I would forget the bottle in the car and when I found it there was mold all over it.
I knew I couldn’t be the only person worried about this. All I wanted was a juice box with low sugar and that was made with organic ingredients. It wasn’t too much to ask for, right? I set out to find a juice box my kids could drink. I eventually came across Honest Kids pouches and I’ve never looked back.
There are so many reasons why I love these drinks and why they’re the only ones we get but what I love the most about them is that they contain around 7 grams of sugar but this is NOT added sugar, it’s actually sweetened with organic fruit juice so the sugar content is coming from the fruit itself.
This drink is not very sweet – it actually tastes like flavored water. I know this all too well because I might have drank one or two or ten of my kids juice boxes. It is the ONLY juice box that I have found with such a low amount of sugar.
Finding a juice box with low amounts of sugar was a priority but it wasn’t my only requirement. Here are some of the other reasons why Honest Kids is the only drink my kids can have:
- It’s sweetened only with fruit juice
- It’s USDA Organic
- It’s Gluten-Free
- It’s Non-GMO (all USDA organic products are non-gmo)
They care about the environment:
- They collect and recycle their containers
- They are part of the TerraCycle Drink pouches brigade and they have been able to divert over 2, 590, 000 pounds from landfills
Another big plus is that you can find these juices everywhere and they’re very affordable. A few years ago when we ate out most kids meals came with a juice that was very sugary and not organic and in some cases, they offered soda. We used to skip the juice but now most restaurants offer the Honest Kids juice pouches so my kids can now enjoy a drink. Honest Kids is even available in large fast foods chains like Chick-fil-A and SUBWAY, so it’s easily accessible for anyone and everyone.
I’ve also noticed that the restaurants that carry the Honest Kids juice pouches also offer the regular Honest Tea, which is great because it’s what I drink!
