I was. There are so many types of strollers now a days that it took me months of research and reading reviews to pick a stroller. And guess what? I picked the wrong one!
I’m a baby wearing mama but my almost 5 month old is 22lbs, which means a stroller is a must for certain occasions.
When I was pregnant I researched many types of stroller but then I realized I had to narrow my search. If you’re looking for a stroller ask yourself:
- What’s my budget?
- Will I use it with one or two babies at a time?
- What will I use it for?
- In what kind of terrain will I use the stroller?
There were many strollers that were appealing to me during my search, including the 4Moms Origami Stroller (I love that it folds itself and that it charges your phone while walking).
However, the 2 I liked the best were the Britax B-Ready and the BOB Revolution SE. I ended up getting the latter because I wanted a stroller I could jog with.
I was so excited to have my jogging stroller and once my baby was big enough (8 weeks old) we went out for a ride but she cried like crazy. We tried several times and every single time she would cry. Why? Because it was facing out and she couldn’t see me.
I wasn’t going to let her cry until she got used to it so I went back and researched all strollers where she could face me and bought the Britax B-Ready.
(Note: You can attach many different car seats to the BOB Revolution SE stroller and baby will face you but being that I have a big baby I needed a solution she wouldn’t outgrow fast.)
My opinions on these strollers:
This stroller has an incredible suspension and it’s a very smooth ride. I love it from day one. The wheels are big and can handle any type of terrain. If you go over a hole or bump you can barely feel it. The front wheel swivels or locks in place. You need it to lock when jogging but when walking it’s much easier to maneuver the stroller when it’s swiveling.
The canopy is big and it will protect your baby from the sun. It also has a ventilation window, where you can see your baby. The basket is big enough to carry my Ju-Ju-Be Be All Diaper Bag and my ERGObaby organic baby carrier but there isn’t much space for anything else.
The handle bar height works for me and my husband. I’m 5’4 and he’s 6’3. Also, the stroller is very easy to fold.
An accessory that I loved having on this stroller was the BOB Handlebar Console. It holds 2 bottles and has a middle pocket. Very useful for holding bottles, phone, keys and a small wallet.
What I didn’t know about the BOB:
You can jog with it after your baby turns 8 months. You can only use it to walk before 8 months. So if you’re getting this to lose your baby weight as soon as your baby is born, you should think of another way to lose it!
The main reason why this stroller didn’t work for us was that I could not see my baby and she could not see me. Which meant she would last about 5 minutes in the stroller before crying.
Overall, this is the best jogging stroller and for everyday use IF you have an older baby or toddler that likes to face out – If you get it, you will not regret it.
I regret not having this stroller from the beginning! It’s so convenient – you can use it so many different ways that this is a stroller that will grow old with you.
The B-Ready comes with a seat that can be used for babies 6 months and up, but you can get a bassinet for it, a Britax Chaperone or B-Safe infant car seat and/or the Second Seat, which you will need of you have 2 kids. All of them with fit right into the stroller very easily, you snap it in place and you’re good to go.
The ride is very smooth, although it doesn’t beat the BOB, and the stroller is easy to maneuver. I love that you can hold the handle in the middle and use the stroller with one hand. Not only that, the handle bar is adjustable so you can lower it if you’re short like me or make it higher if you’re tall like my husband.
My favorite thing about it is all the different settings it has, check out the picture. It’s amazing all you can do with it and all the different positions you can have your baby or babies in it.
As soon as I got it, I went for a walk with my baby. She didn’t cry and was smiling and babbling the entire time. Having your baby face you makes a HUGE difference!
And not only that, the more you talk to your baby the higher the IQ….and well with a stroller that faces you, you are talking a lot more with your baby! I also love how I can bond with my daughter during our stroller rides.
The basket in this stroller is way bigger than the one in the BOB. I love it. I can fit my diaper bag, carrier, blankets, shopping bags, you name it! I use it to go grocery shopping and put all my groceries in it. That’s how big it is.
I love that it comes with a bottle/cup holder. If you’re breastfeeding it will come in handy to have a water bottle in it because you get very thirsty.
The canopy is very similar to the one in the BOB, it’s big and has the ventilation window. Also, the stroller is very easy to fold with one hand.
I bought the Britax Stroller Organizer and it was completely worth it. It’s an accessory you attach to the handle bar. It comes with a big pocket in the middle and 2 bottle holders as well as 2 small mesh bags on the sides. I use this to carry my keys, wallet, cellphone, burp cloth and 2-3 toys.
I love that when my baby gets older and she asks to be facing out I can just flip it over, no weird settings to manage. Just unclip and clip in on the setting you want.
The seat that comes with the stroller has 4 recline settings! Also pretty awesome for your baby. One moment your baby can be sitting up and the next sleeping without its head jiggling from side to side. Also, this stroller comes with a pillow.
Since I got this stroller when my baby was 4 months old and I didn’t have a Britax car seat (another reason why I regret not getting this stroller from day one) I reclined the seat all the way back and bought the Britax Head and Body Support Pillow to make sure she had extra support (the manual said you’re supposed to put babies in this seat after they turn 6 months but my baby is big and the insert helped a lot).
The nice thing about it this insert is that one side is for winter use – soft and warm – and the other for summer. Baby loves it and I love it.
If you’re going to buy one stroller this is the one to get! It will grow with you and you’ll love all the features.
Everyone that has seen my stroller asks me about it – it’s worth every penny.
Not long ago BOB was bought by Britax so I’m sure in the future we’ll have a stroller that combines these two and when it does come out, I’ll be the first one to buy it!
Overall, my advice with strollers, whatever you get, buy something where the baby can faces you. It will make your life much easier and keep your baby happy. Even better if you can adjust the stroller to face you or face out. It will be the only stroller you’ll need for a long time.
