A few days ago I published the first part to this post: Natural brands for your family {the food edition}, where I talked about all the amazing healthy food brands I discovered recently. This post is the second part where I’ll tell you all about green baby products, skin care products, supplements and eco-friendly alternatives for the home that I recently discovered.
In case you haven’t read the first part of this 2 post series here’s a little background (if you already read the other post skip these 3 paragraphs):
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend to the Natural Products Expo East. This is an event were hundreds of brands attends to showcase their products; it’s basically a trade show that also hosts educational events. What makes this expo different is that none of the brands are conventional brands, they’re all natural, mostly organic and non-GMO. These brands are trying to make a difference, some even provide back to the communities, and all have a very unique mission and take of the products they produce.
I had the honor of attending this event as a New Hope Expo Blogger (New Hope is the organizer of this amazing event) and got to discover a lot of amazing brands I didn’t even know existed. I want to share all these brands with you because I know most of you will love them as much as I do now.
As consumers, we have the power to steer what’s being sold to our kids and families and if we support brands that are making things differently, producing better alternatives; then these products will prosper and future generations will have more and more healthy, organic options.
You can see the full list of brands that attended the Natural Products Expo East here. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to see even half of them because this is such a big event so in this post I’ll only share about the brands I got to meet in person and that I loved. My list is pretty extensive so I’ve divided this post in 2 parts: in the first post I went over the food products I discovered and in this post you’ll find information on baby products, skin care products, supplements and eco-friendly alternatives for the home.
To make things easier for you I’ve divide this post in 2 sections:
- Baby products
- Green products for the family (this category includes supplements, products for the home and skin care products).
Baby products:
Charlie Banana
This was the most exciting discovery I made!
Their main product is a hybrid diaper that’s perfect for those that want to cloth diaper but like the convenience of disposable diapers. I was one of those moms on the fence about cloth diapering because I didn’t want to deal with poop and washing diapers but after learning about Charlie Banana I decided to give it a try and we have been cloth diapering every since.
Charlie Banana offers the option of using their diaper as a cloth diaper or adding a disposable insert. This is perfect when you’re out because you just throw out that part and don’t have to worry about carrying a poopy diaper in your bag. They also offers liners that you can put on top of the cloth so it makes diaper cleaning a lot easier – we use these at home.
I’ve been wanting to try cloth diaper for so long and I’m glad I discovered Charlie Banana because they made the switch so easy!

Bambo Nature
These are non-toxic diapers made with the best materials out there when it comes to disposable diapers. We have been using Bambo Nature in our home for the last 3 years so I was pretty familiar with the brand. However, they have expanded their line and I got to see some of the products that they’ll be coming out with soon.
If you’re using disposable diapers you should try this these because not only are they non-toxic but they’re actually pretty good! We’ve never had accidents in them and they work great as a nighttime diaper too.

Yorba Organics
This is a line of body products for the family and babies! As a mom I was very interested in their baby line. They have anything you could need for your baby, from baby lotion to insect repellent. They even carry a line of products for mom: stretch cream and nipple cream.
I checked out their ingredients and was really pleased with this brand. I will be trying them out with my family soon and will write more about them in the future.

Jack n’ Jill
I have been using their products for a while but stopped by their booth to see their entire line in person since I was only familiar with a few of their products.
Jack n’ Jill makes natural and non-toxic toothbrushes and the only toothpaste I buy for my kids. I have already mentioned them before on my non-toxic toothbrushes post but I wanted to add them to this list since they have such great products.

Green products for the family
Badger
I have been using their baby sunscreen since I had my first child over 3 years ago because it was the only truly non-toxic option I found when I researched sunblocks for my kids. I didn’t try any of their other products and wasn’t really familiar with their line so I was pretty surprised when I stopped by their booth and saw all the great stuff they have.
All of their products are non-toxic and organic and they have a huge range of body products: baby products, hair products, bug repellents, face care products, hair care, lip balms and they even have a man’s care line that I’ll be getting for my husband this Christmas.

Goddess Garden
This company was born because the daughter of the founders had allergies to traditional bath and body products. They created a non-toxic line of body products, with their sunscreen being the most popular one.
Their products have a great rating with the Environmental Working Group and are completely non-toxic and organic. If you’re looking for sunscreen or sun repair products you can use for you family you should check them out.

Neocell
This brands sells supplements made out of collagen. Collagen is a complex structural protein that maintains strength and flexibility throughout the body and supports the skin, hair, nails, muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.
These supplements are delicious too, they taste just like chewable candy and by taking them orally your body is able to absorb the collagen and repair any tissue damage. Their line of products is pretty extensive so be sure to check them out because you’ll definitively find a product targeting whatever area you need to heal or improve.

Defender shield
I was pretty excited about this discovery. It looks just like a regular phone or tablet case, except that this is no ordinary case. Defender shield is the only EMF protection capable of blocking the full frequency spectrum of harmful Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF) which includes both Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) and Radio Frequency (RF) emissions.
So you can use your phone or table and not have to worry about the health risks associated with Electromagnetic Radiation that comes from these devices.

BluApple
I remember seeing this product in the past but wasn’t sure how it worked until now. BluApple is a product that absorbs the ethylene gas that is produced by veggies and fruits. By absorbing this it allows your produce to stay fresh longer and prevents it from spoiling as quickly. All you have to do is add one of their little balls to your produce drawer – that simple!
They also came out with a new line of produce bags that also help keep your produce from spoiling too fast. I just started using the BluApple and I have to say I’m really impressed! It does what it says it will do and our produce is lasting longer.

Caboo
Did you know that humans consume about 27,000 trees daily for toilet paper? I sure didn’t.
I fell in love with Caboo because they created a line of paper towel products that are made out of bamboo and sugarcane. Bamboo and sugarcane are grasses that are extremely fast-growing (just three months), and don’t require replanting so they are a great alternative for conventional toilet paper.

There you have it! The great brands I discovered at Natural Products Expo. I wish I had enough time to meet all the brands at the expo but I’m still pretty happy with what I discovered because these are all products I will be using for my own family.
If you end up trying any of these, let me know what you think.
The most important thing I want you to remember is that you, as a consumer, have the power to steer what products are being in the sold. Support companies that are green, organic, non-toxic and that can provide better alternatives for our future generations.
