I never knew how much pregnant women and toddlers were alike until I found myself pregnant and taking care of a 2 year old toddler. The more days go by in this pregnancy the more I feel like I’ve turned into a toddler and it’s kind of funny. So now I want to share with you 10 ways pregnant women (or maybe just me) are just like toddlers.
- Pregnant women and toddlers need at least 10 hours of sleep, even better if it’s 12. Sure I can survive on less sleep and make it through the day with the help of a cup of coffee but if I have it my way I’d sleep 12 hours every night.
- Pregnant women and toddlers need naps. I seriously wonder how moms that have to go to work make it through the day without a nap. When my toddler naps, I nap.
- Pregnant women and toddlers are cranky if they don’t get enough sleep. OK, I think by now you get the point. We both need lots of sleep to function like normal human beings.
- Pregnant women and toddlers have many small meals a day and are snacking constantly. Thank to this nausea that doesn’t seem to go away I can’t eat a big meal and if I get hungry I feel really sick so I feel like I’m constantly snacking all day. Now instead of fixing food and snacks for my daughter I just double the batch and we both eat.
- Pregnant women and toddlers are picky with their food options. Today I might love something that I will hate tomorrow…just like my toddler.
- Pregnant women and toddlers don’t like to pick up toys. The bigger I get the less I want to bend down and pick up all the toys that are lying all over my house. It seems like I just turned into my toddler: I don’t care if the floor is filled with toys.
- Pregnant women and toddlers enjoy very long baths. Seriously, this is the highlight of my day. I get in the tub with my daughter and get to relax while she plays with her fish and bubbles. It’s a win-win situation.
- Pregnant women and toddlers love to get back rubs. My daughter demands a back rub to go to sleep every night. I don’t make my husband rub my back every night but if I could I would.
- Pregnant women and toddlers love sleeping on a huge pile of pillows. Sleeping when pregnant has become quite challenging. I feel so uncomfortable that I need a bunch of pillows around and underneath me. When I wake up every morning I find my daughter lying across her pillow in the weirdest positions, just like me.
- Pregnant women and toddlers wish their daddy could stay home all day. My toddler would love to have her dad around to play with him all day and I love it when he’s here because I get to have a break and have help around the house. It seems like my toddler and I are counting the hours until daddy gets back home and we both get equality excited once he’s here.
So there you have it, 10 ways I’ve turned exactly into my toddler. Haha! Did you noticed these changes in yourself when you were pregnant? If not, what changes did you go through during pregnancy?

Ha! So true! I especially agree with the toys. The house was a real mess most days when I was pregnant with Bella. Hang in there mama!

Oh yes! I think when you’re pregnant you just have to let a lot of things slide by. It’s just hard to keep up. 🙂

Yes to the sleep and the snacks. What about always needing to kow where the nearest public restroom is when you go out?
Carolina says
OMG! Yes! I totally forgot that. I feel like I’ve been to every public restroom in my area. Haha!

Hahahaha you made me laugh about all the sleeping part. Heck yes. I wonder how the moms with 2+ kids who are pregnant get their rest!! I remember napping with Piggie too or giving him a snack and putting on cartoons in bed so I could take little naps lol. Funny post, loved it!
Carolina says
OMG! I wonder that too and I hope I don’t have to find out. Lol! But my husband is set on more kids.

SO tired. And have a map of all the washrooms around town. But I mostly stay in and nap. I am glad I am not the only one, I feel quite teenagerish for sleeping in until noon when I am off work lol

Hahaha! I hear ya! If I didn’t have a toddler I think I would spend my days in bed. It’s crazy how tired you get when you’re pregnant.
