I’m constantly thinking and looking for snack recipes for my toddler (I can’t believe she’s now considered a toddler!). We try to be Paleo at home so most recipes I find are not exactly what I want her eating. We do eat non-paleo food when we go out and that’s when she discovered fries (Yikes!). Now every time she sees them on someone’s plate she points at them and makes a clear sound that probably mean “I want fries NOW!”. That’s when I realized I need to make something similar to fries at home for her to snack on and this is when I decided to try to make baked carrot fries.
The carrot fries are a hit! She loves eating food in stick shape and likes the taste of carrost. Not only did my toddler love them but so did my husband. He actually eats most of them and thinks they taste similar to sweet potato fries. This is a snack that I will be making a lot.
{Baked} Carrot Fries Recipe
Ingredients:
- Organic Carrots (I get a big bag from Costco)
- Olive Oil (I use cold press & organic)
- Salt (we use Himalayan Pink Salt)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450F.
Cut carrots in french fry shape. I made a big batch and used 6 carrots.
Put all the carrot sticks in a bowl. Add olive oil and salt to taste. Mix it so it’s evenly distributed. Line up the carrots on a wax paper sheet and put it in the oven at 450F for about 15 mins.
Check on the carrots to make sure you get the desired crunchiness. The more you leave them in the oven the crunchier they will get.
Did you try the recipe? Let me know what you think?
