We love eating green veggies in our home and Brussel Sprouts is one of our favorites. The trick with Brussel Sprouts is that you have to season them properly so they’re tasty because on their own they are not so good.
This recipe is fast and easy to make and I usually make it along something else I will cook in the oven to maximize my time and oven use.
The best part is that my toddler loves it. This recipe is actually the only way she will eat them so try it out with your family and see if your kids like it too. It’s worth a shot!
Roasted Sesame Brussel Sprouts Recipe
Ingredients:
I always make the right amount so I don’t have any Brussel Sprouts left over. My family of 3 will eat a total of 20 in one meal but if you’re family is bigger just add more Brussel Sprouts and adjust the recipe. It’s easy just to eye it and get the quantities right.
- Organic Brussel Sprouts
- Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil cold pressed (we also use the one from Costco)
- Pure Himalayan Salt
- Organic pepper
- 3 Tablespoons of Organic Toasted Sesame Seeds (you can also use raw organic sesame seeds)
- 1 Tablespoon of Grass fed butter (we use Kerrygold)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 400 F.
Cut the Brussel Sprouts in half and wash them thoroughly. Shake the excess water off.
On a Pyrex dish put the Brussel Sprouts, sprinkle them with olive oil, Himalayan salt and pepper. Add the salt and pepper to taste – I usually add more salt then pepper. Mix all ingredients together so they’re eventually distributed and place the dish in the oven.
Cook for 20 mins. Take the pirex out of the oven and add the butter and sesame seeds. Make sure it’s all mixed evenly, the butter will melt as you’re mixing it all together. If you feel like you want to eat more sesame seeds feel free to add more.
Put the dish back in the oven for an additional 10 mins. Now it’s ready to serve!

We’ll have to try this! I made brussels sprouts for the first time not so long ago and Sofía loved them! She kept calling them broccoli because I said that they taste a little bit like broccoli. I made them in the skillet, and you’re right that you have to season them properly. Bella wasn’t a fan.

Haha! Camila loves them but she always peels off the first layer. Lol! We love them in the skillet too, with butter and garlic.
