If you don’t want to read the post, you can just find the tents here:
Now that my baby is almost one I’m looking for toys that will last us a while and that will be fun for her now and during the toddler years. About a month ago we got her what I consider the BEST toy ever: eWonderWorld Polka Dot Teepee & Square Play Zone w/ Tunnel & Tote – 3 Piece
It’s a set of 2 tents with a tunnel. Each tent has a different shape. The tent that has a squared shape is perfect for a ball pit because the bottom of the entrance is raised so they balls won’t get out. This tent also has an opening at the top so if my baby gets too big, she can always stand up in it. Both tents are big enough for me to get in there with my baby and play.
I have connected both tents together and put the MyLine Baby PlayMat next to them so now she’s always crawling directly to her play area. She loves it! The best part is seeing her crawl back and forth between both tents through the tunnel. There is something about a tunnel that kids love.
This tents is a bit pricey but I think it’s worth since the material is strong, it doesn’t have any sticks, so you just unfold it and it becomes a tent (no assembly required) and you can fold it back down to take it anywhere. The case where the 2 tents and the tunnel come in is very thin and small – perfect for storage. I’m amazed how they got to fit it all this way. The best part about this toy is that my daughter will enjoy it for a long time and so will our future kids and all their friends!
[Update 2016: we’ve been using this tent for 3 years now. My daughter (now 3 years old) and her friends still play with this tent set on a daily basis. It has hold up pretty well – still looks brand new and doesn’t have any holes nor it has ripped. I am amazed of the quality because this tent has taken a beaten, although you can’t even tell by looking at it.]
You can also buy each part separately or just one tunnel with one tent. You will get the best deal buying all 3 together and if you don’t have room to set it all up, you can have one tent in another room.
Here are the different options you can get – we have the first one. (click on the picture to buy it)
If you want to make this a ball pit, you can buy non-toxic balls with a matching case:
You can also buy just the balls without a case:
Let me know if you get it and what is your baby’s and/or toddler’s reaction when they see it.
Update: Wanted to share these pictures of our new set up of the tents. I used to have them in our living room but now they’re in my daughter’s bedroom, along with the non-toxic playmat.
Hi, did you choose this tunnel set because it was also non-toxic? Trying to avoid flame retardants and PVC.
Hi! Yes, I did. It was the best one and non-toxic one I could find out there. When I opened it it didn’t have any weird smells either.:)
Hi! Thanks for this article. I also try my best to avoid flame retardants and toxins (bpa, pvc, and phthalates especially). I was looking into buying this tent, but I don’t see anything that says that it is free of bpa, pvc, phthalates, and flame retardants. Could you share how you know that it is nontoxic?
Hi Sophie! I researched this a while back and can’t remember where I found the info but I’ll look for it again and get back to you.
Hi Carolina – I’m looking for a tent that’s safe for baby to use at the beach. Have you used this tent at the beach…or do you know of a good non-toxic option for the beach? Thanks!
I have not used it at the beach but if I needed one, I would use this one because it’s sooo easy to set up.
