Ever feel like your body just feels tight all over and you just need a break? I feel this way a lot, and as much as I wish I could disappear off to a spa, I am a stay-at-home mom with a husband that works long hours so that’s just not possible.
However, I have found the next best way to relax by creating a spa-like experience in my own home with homemade products.
One of the easiest DIY products you can make is an oatmeal bath with powdered milk and rose petals. It not only helps you relax but it is actually great for your skin. In fact, if you’re suffering from dry skin you’ll want to make this oatmeal bath with flowers a regular thing.
Oatmeal has many benefits for your skin. It’s safe for you skin and it’s full of vitamins, mineral and lipids which cleanse your skin while moisturizing it. It’s also been proven to help itchy, dry skin as well as eczema, so it has soothing properties. Plus it is a great way to hydrate your skin during the cold winter months.
Powdered milk is also full of vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties. It moisturizes your skin and softens it.
Rose Petals and the rose otto essential oil has also lots of benefits for you skin. They moisturize your skin, aid in skin repair and have anti-aging properties.
As you can see this mixture is perfect to hydrate your skin while you relax in the bath. It’s a win and win and it smells divine.
I try to have an oatmeal bath once a week, whether it’s alone or with my girls since they also benefit from bathing in these ingredients.
