Sometimes coming up with a great gift is hard. You can spend hours looking online or looking in a store without finding exactly what you’re looking for. Others times you just don’t know what to get your friend, family or co-worker…
Buying gifts can be stressful, especially if you want the person to love what you’re giving them, but it doesn’t have to be. You can make homemade bath and body products in your own home and give them as gifts.
Everyone appreciates gifts where someone put their time and effort into making them. Plus when you make these gifts at home you know exactly what ingredients you’re putting into each product, which means you can avoid toxic chemicals and customize each product to your preference or your friend’s preference.
Plus making DIY beauty products is a lot easier than you think. All of these products can be made in under 5-10 minutes, are high quality and last quite a bit. You can also involve your kids in the process – they will feel so proud to help and now grandma can have a homemade gift she will love and use!

Homemade soap:
One of my favorite products to give as gifts are homemade soaps using pour and melt soap.
Pour and melt soaps are a soap base that you can customize at home with the flowers, scents and ingredients you want. I love using a glycerin melt and pour soap base or a goat’s milk melt and pour base.
All you need to do is melt the soap using the double boiler method or a microwave (you can follow the directions here) and add whatever essential oil and/or flowers you want to customize the soap.
The best molds to make soap in are the silicone ones because it’s very easy to pop out the soap once it’s hardened. My favorite molds are these rounds ones, the rectangular ones and these with flower shapes.
Once you melt the soap base you can mix it with different ingredients. My favorite one is making a honey and vanilla soap bars, like these:
Melt 1lb of the goat’s milk melt and pour soap base (half of what comes in the package). Once melted, add 2 teaspoons of organic honey and 20 drops of vanilla essential oil. Mix well and poor in the silicone mold. It should be hard enough in a few hours.
Making your own DIY products is so easy and each recipe takes just a few minutes to make! By making a big batch you will have lots of gifts ready for everyone you know.
Your family and friends are going to love all these homemade gifts!
