When I found out one of my friends used to work at Disney World and did so for a long time, I asked her to share with us the top spots to view the fireworks during New Year’s Eve at Magic Kingdom. It’s on my bucket list and I figured it might be on your bucket list, too!
So, here’s what she had to share…
Keep in mind that these are the best spots to view the fireworks at Magic Kingdom during any time of the year, but on this post we focused on New Year’s since those are some of the best fireworks you will at Magic Kingdom.
With the end of the year nearing us soon, everyone is starting to make their plans for how they are going to ring in the New Year and celebrate with family and friends. If you are looking for somewhere magical to spend your holiday, I would highly recommend spending the day at Disney’s The Magic Kingdom!
Can you think of anything better than turning a new leaf and starting out a brand new year at a place filled with so much love and magic? That truly is what the day of New Year’s Eve is like at the Magic Kingdom. Keep in mind that it can get quite busy on that day because they tend to hit capacity early and so many people want to spend the entire day there as well.
If you are lucky enough to spend New Year’s Eve at Magic Kingdom then you are in for a truly beautiful and magical fireworks show when it is time to ring in the New Year. Guests take finding the perfect spot to see the fireworks very seriously and some start reserving their spots as early as 8:30 p.m. that evening!
There’s no bad spot to view the fireworks, you get a pretty good view from any point in the park but today I am going to be sharing with you a few of the best spots that just might push your viewing experience to the next level.

Top 4 spots to view the fireworks at The Magic Kingdom:
1. FastPass+ Viewing Areas: There are specific FastPass designated areas to view the fireworks and they are quite good viewing spots. You get a great view but the best part is that the spots are limited so you don’t end up feeling like you are a bunch of sardines packed into a can with the other guests around you.
However, you do have to use one of your Fast Passes in order to reserve a spot for these viewing areas. I would suggest doing these as far in advance as you can. As you can imagine, they book up pretty quickly for FastPass reservations.

2. Main Street: Various parts of Main Street are available for viewing and they tend to make a pretty great viewing spot for the firework show. I will warn you that these spots fill up very quickly and people tend to start camping out for their spots on main street around 8:30-9p.m.
You’ll have a good view of the firework show and the projection show from this spot but do keep in mind that there will be a lot of traffic through here – you might have a hold up with exiting the park after the show.
3. Behind Cinderella’s Castle: I know this one sounds a little strange, but it’s actually one of my favorite spots to see the fireworks. Not only are there less people, so you’ll have a smaller crowd around you but you actually have excellent views of the fireworks because a lot of them are shot off from behind the castle.
Keep in mind that you won’t be able to see the projection show from this spot.
4. Ticket Station: My personal favorite spot to see the fireworks is right by the exit of the park, by the ticket station. You actually get a surprisingly good view of the fireworks and not to mention you can be the first to the parking lot and avoid all of the exit traffic.
In this spot you won’t be able to see the projection part of the show but you will be able to leave the park quickly and beat the crowds. This is great if you have little ones with you. I personally think the bit of comprising in not being able to see the projection part of the show is worth that since you are out past their bedtime.
In my experience, these are some of the most popular spots to see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom and also my personal favorite ones! If you plan to ring in the New Year at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, I would highly recommend reserving one of these spots to get a great view of the show and happily ring in the New Year with your friends and family.
