I am in love with this easy recipe for Instant Pot Greek Green Beans. It is so perfect with green beans, feta cheese and tomatoes that it is almost my favorite side dish ever. Almost. I still love cinnamon apples.
In all seriousness, though, this green beans recipe is so simple, and the flavor so full, you can literally pair it with just about any main dish. Plus, it is so fast, you can have it ready to go, even if you forget to make a side dish by the time dinner will be ready. Definitely not something you can do with a slow cooker.
And I know just how speedy making this side dish is — and how convenient it is to make it so fast, because I have seriously used my Instant Pot to make just about everything and quick is it’s middle name. From desserts to easy weeknight dinners, simple lunches, snacks and even breakfast, my Instant Pot gets a workout.
I use the Instant Pot all the time, multiple times a week for all sorts of things. It makes cooking for my family so much easier and stress-free. You just need to gather all of your ingredients, pop them into the pot, set it and walk away!
What You Need to Make Instant Pot Greek Green Beans
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed + halved
- 2 tbsp. minced garlic
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4-1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup sliced baby tomato (or you can use diced tomatoes, but don’t go with tomato sauce)
- 3-4 Ttbsp crumbled feta
- Fresh chopped parsley, garnish
You can switch it up and add potatoes to your greek style green beans, but just use really small ones or cut your larger ones into smaller bits so you don’t have to change your cooking time. I love green beans and potatoes, so this is something I sometimes do with green beans.
How to Make Instant Pot Greek Green Beans
Place 1/4 cup of water into the inner pot of the Instant Pot pressure cooker.
Add green beans, garlic, red bell pepper and onions and stir to combine. If you’re using diced tomatoes instead of the little cherry tomatoes, add the tomato now with the rest of the ingredients.
Set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 4 minutes.
Quick release the pressure.
Stir to ensure it’s all combined.
Add feta, tomatoes and salt/pepper as desired before serving.
