This recipe for Instant Pot Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs makes me drool. So good, you’ll want to make it again and again!
I don’t usually make traditional meals–it’s just not in my nature to do the “norm”. But when my kids asked for spaghetti and meatballs, I was intrigued. Could I cook the meatballs in the Instant Pot? Could I make a homemade spaghetti sauce that I truly loved–that wasn’t icky like the canned stuff?

Could I turn Instant Pot meatballs and spaghetti into a new favorite meal for the whole family?
The answer turned out to be a resounding “YES!” On all counts.
This meatball recipe is so simple, you’ll want to make extras to freeze so you can take frozen meatballs out to heat up later for meatball sandwiches. They’re seriously that good–and super easy.
It just seems to be that way with every Instant Pot recipe. It makes having a widely varied diet so much easier! The Instant Pot gets used regularly in our house.
I love that I can throw my ingredients in, set it and then go take care of something else while dinner cooks! And I don’t need to worry about it burning.
It’s like having a sous-chef to cook our meals that just does what I tell it. LOL!

Instant Pot Homemade Meatballs and Spaghetti Sauce
Ingredients
Meatballs
- 2 pounds grass-fed, organic ground beef
- 1 pound organic hot Italian sausage (if you don’t like spicy, use regular)
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup Italian breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup Hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Spaghetti Sauce
- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 6 ounce can tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Directions
Meatballs
Mix together all ingredients for the meatballs in a mixer.

Use a large scoop like a tablespoon or whatever and then use your hands to roll and pack them into meatballs.

I can make somewhere between 16-24 meatballs.
Place the meatballs in layers on the bottom of the inner pot, trying not to squish them too much.
Spaghetti Sauce
Add all of the ingredients for the spaghetti sauce to the inner pot of the Instant Pot on top of the meatballs. Try to cover all of the meatballs as much as you can, using a spoon to kind of stir — but don’t squish the meatballs.

Lock the lid on the pressure cooker and turn the pressure valve to ‘sealed’.
Set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for a cook time of 10 minutes. While the meatballs are cooking, prepare your favorite noodles following the package instructions.

Do a quick release.
Serve over your favorite noodles, or on an hoagie bun with melted mozzarella cheese. Garnish your pasta with parsley or basil.
I like to serve this meal with a Cesar salad on the side. Enjoy!
